RevolutiCon IV is proud to present the RevolutiCon Fiction Contest. We are accepting new, previously unpublished works of fantasy, science fiction and horror, between 5000 to 15,000 words long. The top five stories will receive credit on our website and the 1st place winner of the contest will receive an additional prize to be presented at the convention. Based on submissions an anthology may be published and the top five stories will receive a free copy.

 

RULES:

 

If you wish to enter the contest but to do not wish to attend the convention, you may pay for a membership and submit your work. If you win, we will contact you. Thank you for your time.

  • You may also email entries to jennifer@revolution.com. If you send entries via email, please send them as an attached Word document and put RevolutiCon Fiction Contest Entry in the Subject Line.

  • All entries must be between 5000 to 15,000 words long, and currently unpublished.

  • All entries should include the name of the contestant and two means of contacting them on the first page. Entries that do not have these will not be considered.

  • While there are no specific restrictions on content or language, RevolutiCon reserves the right to disqualify any entry that we deem necessary to disqualify.

  • Only one entry per attendee.

  • All entries must be received by October 15th, 2007 . No entry received after that date will be considered.

Costume

 

In the grand tradition of convention costuming, dating back nearly five decades in SF fandom, RevolutiCon is proud to present it's Creature Fashion Show! Registration for the Contest will be available during the con at the Registration Desk. There is no pre-registration. Simply drop by the Registration Desk during the con and register.

 

RULES

 

  • There will be a limit of twenty entries. A group performance is considered to be one entry.

  • NO microphones may be used by the contestants.

  • Individual presentations are limited to one minute; group sketches and skits are limited to two minutes. The Director reserves the right to remove contestants who violate these time limits.

  • No profanity allowed: any contestant who violates this rule will be removed from the stage immediately.

  • No nudity allowed: this is a family costume show. No costume is no costume.

  • No flash pots or explosive devices: the Fire Department will shut us down.

  • Props will have to be carried on and off the stage by the contestants. If your props require more people to move them, you will have to provide the manpower. When you register for the contest, you must tell us how many helpers you will have.

  • There is no pre-judging session. Registered contestants will report to the lobby prep area for set-up activities and information at 7:45 pm. We will do pre-show activities in the lobby. There is not a large backstage area and there are no private dressing rooms; show up ready to go onstage.

  • After your performance, you will return to the lobby area to await the judge's results.
